Vintage Industrial Shoot with WedLuxe Magazine

Updated: Sep 6, 2019

Jordan Kentri, Amanda Foong Cakes and Covers Couture co-produced and designed a vintage industrial style photo shoot to inspire the contemporary bride. These visionaries felt W Event Boutique was the perfect spot because it is a blank canvas waiting to be transformed. “It was a vision between the florist, cake & stationery designer as the creators of the overall design,” said Jordan Kentri.

The team aimed to produce something out of the ordinary through this shoot because they wanted to showcase a unique wedding theme. “The backdrop for our ceremony was inspired by vintage copper ceiling tiles with asymmetrical florals,” Kentri explained, “It featured an amazing floating cake on a copper base with a concrete texture and handmade sugar flowers to tie it all together.”

However, the reception scene had a different look. It featured a knockout floral archway with suspended candles and bronzed acrylic, which complimented W's rustic, white brick walls. The acrylic table had concrete chargers, hand poured concrete place cards, and copper accents. Overall, this shoot provides a modern bride with a good blend of vintage and industrial style.

Kentri says he incorporated concepts from the industrial revolution. He pulled references from the vintage art deco and mixed them with modern acrylic, concrete, and leather. “It's about the contrast between those elements that plays really well,” Kentri said, “it brought in bold colours with the blues and coppers to balance the pale grays and whites.” The aesthetic beauty of this shoot depended on juxtaposing hardness and softness. The team then brought in lush florals and tulle to soften up the industrial vibe as a finishing touch - and it was magic

According to Jordan, W Event Boutique was the perfect venue for this WedLuxe Magazine feature. “It's a space with a lot of potential," He said, " it allows designers to bring it to life in ways that haven't been seen before. W has great staff and an affordable space that allows for limitless possibilities.” This is because W Event Boutique can ultimately be transformed into anything you envision. With its modern colour palette and unique textures, like distressed wood and rustic white brick, W proved to be a great place for a vintage-industrial styled wedding.
